World Hand Hygiene Day

Every year on May 5, with the support of the World Health Organization (WHO), the World Community celebrates World Hand Hygiene Day. This date is not accidental – the 5th day of the 5th month symbolizes 5 fingers on each person’s hand. This year, World Hand Hygiene Day is held under the motto: “Clean hands save lives!”

Hands is one of the main risk factors for the spread of pathogens, hand hygiene can reduce the spread of infectious diseases. Currently, hand hygiene is particularly relevant in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

It is extremely important to wash your hands properly:
1. Wet your hands
2. Apply soap
3. Rub your palms carefully
4. Rub the right palm on the surface of the left hand and vice versa
5. Rub your palms with your fingers intertwined
6. Wipe your fingertips carefully
7. Rub your thumbs separately
8. Wash soap under running water
9. Wipe your hands dry.
10. If you cannot wash your hands with soap, use an antiseptic

Wash your hands more often and be healthy!
