Nataliia FILIMONOVA

PhD, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor

Born on January 15, 1967, in Kharkiv — microbiologist. Doctor of Medical Sciences (2003), Professor (2006). Graduated with honors from Kharkiv Medical Institute in 1990 with a specialization in Pediatrics.

After completing her postgraduate studies in 1993, she worked between 1994 and 2005 at the Departments of Normal Physiology and Anatomy (1994–1996), and Pathological Physiology (1996–2005).
From 2005 until August 2024, she worked at the Department of Microbiology, Virology, and Immunology at the National University of Pharmacy (NUPh), which she began heading in 2008.
Since September 2025, she has been serving as Head of the Department of Social-Humanitarian and Biomedical Disciplines at KHIM.

In 2022, she obtained a second higher education degree from the Kharkiv University of Humanities “People’s Ukrainian Academy” in the field of Philology, specializing in Germanic Languages and Literatures.

Scientific Research Interests:

  • Medical microbiology

  • Antibiotic resistance
  • Microbial contamination of medicinal forms and pharmaceutical products

She is the co-author of over 322 scientific works, including:

  • 7 methodological guidelines
  • 16 patents of Ukraine for inventions and utility models

Academic Supervision:

Under the supervision of Prof. Filimonova:

  • 6 PhD dissertations and
  • 1 doctoral dissertation
    have been successfully defended.
